25 layers between your tap and your kitchen.
Membrix is the patented water conditioning technology inside every Verra product. Developed at MIT. No electricity. No waste. Just science.

A water intelligence platform.
Membrix is not a filter. It is a cascading treatment architecture where 25 layers of conditioning each perform a specific role. Together they deliver water that is cleaner, conditioned, and ready for its intended use.
Developed by Professor Rohit Karnik at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and co-founded with Dhananjay Goel. Patented, peer-reviewed, and engineered specifically for Indian water conditions.

Two platforms. One science.
Different water uses require different levels of treatment. That is why Membrix has two distinct platforms.
Membrix Tech™
Designed for kitchen water, bathing water, and everyday home use. The system progressively enhances water quality through 25 stages of treatment: sediment removal, chlorine reduction, hardness conditioning, and polishing.
The water that comes out feels cleaner, tastes better in cooking, and is gentler on skin and hair.
Inside Kitchen by Verra and Bath by Verra.
Membrix Plus™
Designed for drinking water. Multiple layers of purification address clarity, taste, and microbiological safety. No electricity. No wastewater. No compromise on what matters most: the safety of the water your family drinks.
Membrix Plus powers our drinking water products and the Jal Kavach humanitarian programme.
What Membrix conditions and what it does not
We believe in full transparency. Here is exactly what Membrix does.
Membrix is not an RO system. It does not remove dissolved salts the way reverse osmosis does. It does not need to. For kitchen water and bathing water, Membrix addresses the contaminants that actually matter for cooking, cleaning, and skin contact. For drinking water, Membrix Plus provides multi-barrier protection that addresses microbiological safety without electricity and without wasting water.
If you are comparing Membrix to an RO system, the honest answer is: they do different things. RO strips water of nearly everything, including minerals your body needs, and wastes three litres for every one it keeps. Membrix conditions water intelligently, keeps the good, removes the harmful, and wastes nothing.
What Membrix removes, measured
Every figure below is independently lab-verified against recognised testing standards. We publish nothing we cannot prove.

No electricity.
No waste. By
design.
Conventional water systems need a power socket and a drainage pipe. Membrix needs neither. The technology was engineered from the ground up to work passively, using the natural pressure of your home water supply to push water through 25 layers of conditioning. No pumps. No motors. No electricity bill. No wasted water down the drain.
This is not a limitation we worked around. This is a design principle we started with.
The verrafied proof
Every Verra product ships with an RT-PCR home water test strip. Developed by our research team, the strip gives you a simple, visual answer: one line means your water is clean. Two lines means it is not.
If your water tests unclean after passing through Membrix, you get a full refund. No questions asked. That is the verrafied promise. We put the proof in the box because we believe you should never have to take our word for it.
The scientist
Professor Rohit Karnik leads one of the most respected water research labs in the world at the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering. His work on membrane-based water treatment has been published in leading scientific journals and has shaped how the field thinks about decentralised water solutions.
He co-founded Membrix with DJ Goel to bring the science out of the lab and into the home. The technology you use in your kitchen was designed in his lab at MIT.
